Taradale Intermediate is a specialist school for the emerging adolescent, the 11 - 13 year olds of this world. This fact makes our school a special place as our programes, our activities and events are geared specifically for this age group. To quote Professor James Beane "... adolescence is an absolutely critical stage of development. It is a time of increased social awareness, dramatic physical change, a deepening sense of values, growing independence, and increasingly complex cognitive capacity". This website will give you an informative insight into our world - students, parents and staff.
Taradale intermediate is located in the most beautiful suburb of Napier - tree lined streets, parks, streams and wonderful assets such as the surrounding hills, river, walkways, marae, wineries and shopping area. Our students mostly come from this neighbourhood but also from across Napier. Including our 5 main contributing schools students may come to us from up to 20 different schools so we are always a diverse, interesting and exciting school community.
Our school motto "Seek to Achieve" is at the heart of our endeavours as we challenge all students to be the best they can be - through academic challenge, sporting activity, cultural action and service to our school and local community. This is expanded on as you explore this website.
We welcome all visitors to our school - parents, relatives, locals and visitors to Hawke's Bay. Please feel free to contact us with any queries or requests for further information.
